Why should you learn UNIX and Shell Programming?

Unix is very popular and powerful Operating system and most of the modern days OS and platforms such as Linux, Solaris, Andriod etc. are developed or evolved from UNIX. Additionally, UNIX is most popular choice among the system administrators for various applications, software & enterprise environment.

You cannot think of a System Administrator without the basic Knowledge of UNIX & Shell scripting. So it is increasingly important to learn UNIX and shell scripting if you are aspiring to become a successful system administrator.

How to Start Learning UNIX and shell programming?
